During his time in the United States, Dvořák arranged the well-known song Old Folks at Home by the popular American songwriter Stephen C. Foster, for soprano, baritone, choir and orchestra. This arrangement was premiered in New York on 23 January 1894 at a benefit concert organised by the city’s National Conservatory; the concert was conducted by Dvořák himself.
