Otilie Malybrok-Stieler (1836–1913)

German poet and translator with a chief interest in Slavic literature. She translated works by Karel Hynek Mácha and Julius Zeyer into German. Dvořák chose some of the poems from her collection Lyrische Gedichte und Ubertragungen nach bomischer Kunst- und Volks-Poesie as texts for his Four Songs, Op. 82. Stieler translated into German the texts of Dvořák’s song cycles In Folk Tone, Op. 73, and Love Songs, Op. 83, and also the libretto for his opera Dimitrij.
